- Routine Testing of Electrical Installation
According to the Government's Power Supply Rule,
the fixed electrical installation of a premises
have to be inspected and tested at lease once for
every five years, and a certificate will be awarded.
All the premises concerned have already completed
the captioned inspection and testing, 95% premises
have been awarded the certificate (WR2) and the
remaining 5% will get the certificate within this
year.
- Year Y2K Problem
The tackling work for Year Y2K problem has been
carried out since 1998. Systems will be a ffected
such as Fire Services System, Building Management
System and Building Automation System, Burglary
Alarm System, Security System, Air-conditioning
System, Electrical Distribution System, Lift and
Escalator System, CABD System, Generator System,
Car park Control System, Stationery Facilities,
etc. The relevant suppliers were informed to carry
out the inspection, testing and rectification work
for the systems concerned. The aforesaid work had
been completed in the middle of 1999.
- Slope and Retaining Wall Inspection and Maintenance
The lack of maintenance of slope and retaining
wall is the major factor of many landslips. As a
minimum, Routine Maintenance Inspection should be
arranged and undertaken once a year and after a
heavy rainstorm. Hence, Hang Yick prepares to commission
Registered Geotechnical Engineer to conduct an Engineer
Inspection for Maintenance on the insecure slopes
and retaining walls by the end of the year.
- Maintenance and Renovation Work
In order to arrest deterioration of building elements;
prolong service life of the building; assure safety
of the building and enhance resale value of the
property, proper maintenance and renovation work
is a must. Accordingly, Hang Yick proposes to carry
out large-scale maintenance and renovation work
on all buildings, including Garden Rivera and Shatin
Centre.
